Abstract

Abstract:
This paper aims to reflect on intersectoral approaches in the health field. To this end, I used a study on teenage pregnancy to discuss the actions undertaken within this approach, referring the reader to an analysis of a specific situation by presenting some of the results of the aforementioned study, as well as the procedures that contributed to its implementation. The unique trajectories of pregnant teenagers, the collective actions in which they are protagonists, as well as the official discourses they are the target of were the basis from which I undertook this analysis. I therefore indicate the need for intersectoral interventions to be deduced from theoretical reflections and from the deepening of some concepts that can justify their relevance, as well as the best way to implement them. I also warn of the risk contained in fads, which often lead to pragmatic and short-sighted positions. In making these reflections, I reiterate the importance of the encounter between health and human sciences, as well as the association between the knowledge produced in academia and the practices that aim to assist, prevent and promote the health of our population, with an emphasis on adolescent reproductive health.

Abstract:
This study aims at reflecting on the inter-sector characteristic in the health field. In order to do so, I made use of a research on pregnancy in adolescence to establish a dialogue with the actions that are taken within this approach, leading the reader to an analysis of a concrete situation through the exposition of some results of the mentioned research as well as of the procedures that contributed to its accomplishment. The singular ways of pregnant teenagers, the collective actions of which they are protagonists, as well as the official discourses focused on them were the basis on which I performed the so-called analysis. Thus I indicate the need that the inter-sector interventions are to be deduced from theoretical reflections and from the deepening of some concepts that can justify their relevance, as well as the best way of implementing these interventions. I also alert to the risk contained in the manners, which usually causes pragmatic and immediate attitudes. As I mention all these reflections, I reaffirm the importance of the engagement between human and health sciences, as well as the association between the knowledge produced in the academy and the practices that one proposes to assist, prevent and promote the health of our population, notably the reproductive health in the teenage girl.
