Abstract

The Intersectoral Alliance for Adolescence and Youth of Ibero-America, Italy and the Caribbean (AIAJIIC) brings together organizations that work towards a real, committed and intersectoral vision with adolescents and young people in the region.

The Alliance, working together with FECOLSOG – Colombian Federation of Obstetrics and Gynecology ( www.fecolsog.org ), held, from October 24 to 26, 2019, in Barranquilla – Colombia, the II INTEGRATED CONGRESS of AIAJIIC, together with the I Colombian Congress of Contraception .

Integration and participation. The event began with a free pre-congress in Dialogue Rounds, at the Universidad Libre – North Headquarters, which opened an interesting debate with different visions involving professionals and young people. This is an affordable international congress, with representatives from 20 countries, 81 experts on topics related to these age groups and a total of 736 participants, including 38 facilitators. Due to its intersectoral and integrated nature, it was designed and open to members of health teams, education, the judiciary, cultural representatives and other members of the community committed to the issues of these stages of the life cycle. The event encouraged the participation of young professionals. Finally, and equally important, it allowed us to strengthen bonds of friendship and establish new spaces for dialogue, learning, opportunities for joint work and more forceful influence on the development of Comprehensive Health for Adolescents and Young People in our countries.

Our efforts and work have been, are and will always be aimed at developing new times for our region, with our adolescents and young people in mind.
