With this fourth issue, we complete the first year of publication of the magazine Adolescence & Health . A year that will always be remembered as “the year of emotion and feeling”.
Emotion was the stimulus that initiated, justified and maintained this project. Having an ideal is important, but believing in it and fighting for it is fundamental.
It was a year of struggles and questions, with ups and downs, disappointments and surprises, successes and failures, alternating between disillusionment and discouragement and gratifying and rewarding emotions. A very rich year.
I would like to encourage all colleagues who fight for an ideal, for an idea, for a project, by sharing our difficulties, our experiences, our mistakes, our successes, our economic problems (who doesn’t have them in this increasingly globalized Brazil?), our social problems, our institutional problems, our big, small and gigantic problems. To face them, we need a lot of professionalism, ethics and, above all, a lot of emotion, courage and stubbornness, characteristics that remind us of our adolescence and that of our loved ones.
We would like to thank all the people who directly or indirectly contributed and participated in this first year of work. We would also like to thank all the colleagues who responded and sent us the survey, who shared their opinions, criticisms, support and encouragement. In this first year, we have sought to focus on raising awareness among professionals, addressing a broader view of adolescence and its broad universe. Next year, we will focus on review papers, unpublished papers and clinical cases.
As a surprise birthday present, Adolescência & Saúde has grown and taken over the internet. All issues and articles, in full, can now be accessed at www.adolescenciaesaude.com.br.
I wish everyone, readers, collaborators, friends, partners and our teenagers, a peaceful Christmas and that, in 2005, the magazine continues its trajectory of growth and continues to count on the collaboration of all of you.
