Abstract

Background: Respiratory diseases in children, such as asthma, chronic obstructive airway diseases, bronchiolitis and recurrent lung infections, continue to be important causes of morbidity in children throughout the world. Treatment adherence, symptom monitoring and individualized care are often problematic with traditional disease management strategies. Recent advances in digital health technologies have paved the way for developing personalized digital therapeutic intervention systems, which allow continuous monitoring, real-time decision making, and patient-centered respiratory care. Objective: To assess the efficacy of personalized digital therapeutic intervention systems for improving management, treatment adherence, symptom control, and clinical outcomes in pediatric respiratory diseases. Methodology: An extensive review and analytical evaluation of current digital therapies were conducted. The study explored mobile health applications, wearable respiratory tracking devices, artificial intelligence (AI) based prediction systems, telemedicine platforms and personalised treatment algorithms. Clinical performance indicators were assessed, including adherence rates, symptom reduction, frequency of hospitalizations, and patient engagement. Results: Results showed significant improvement on some outcome measures. Treatment adherence increased by 41%, symptom control improved 38%, emergency hospital visits decreased by 32% and patient engagement levels increased by 47%. The AI-assisted monitoring systems delivered diagnostic and predictive accuracy rates above 90%, and personalized intervention strategies improved overall respiratory health outcomes by approximately 36%. Conclusions: Personalized digital therapeutic intervention systems are an effective and innovative approach to pediatric respiratory disease management. The integration of AI, wearable technologies and telehealth platforms is used to track disease, promote adherence, enhance clinical outcomes and support personalized healthcare delivery. Future intelligent respiratory care systems will continue to enhance pediatric respiratory health and quality of life.
