Abstract

Background: Adolescent mental health challenges, including stress, anxiety, emotional distress, and poor coping abilities, have become increasingly prevalent worldwide. Mental resilience, defined as the capacity to adapt positively to adversity and recover from stressful experiences, is a critical protective factor during adolescence. School-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) programs have emerged as effective interventions for enhancing emotional regulation, coping skills, and psychological resilience among young people.

Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of school-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy programs in strengthening mental resilience and improving psychological well-being among adolescents.

Methodology: A cross-sectional evaluation study was conducted among 300 adolescents aged 12–17 years participating in school-based CBT interventions. Data were collected using standardized questionnaires assessing resilience, emotional well-being, stress management, and coping skills. Descriptive and inferential statistical analyses were performed to determine program effectiveness.

Findings: The results indicated that 73% of participants demonstrated improved resilience following participation in CBT programs. Enhanced emotional regulation skills were reported by 69%, while 65% showed improved stress management abilities. Furthermore, 71% of adolescents reported increased confidence in coping with academic and social challenges. Statistical analysis revealed a significant positive association between CBT participation and resilience outcomes (p < 0.05).

Conclusion: School-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy programs are effective in enhancing adolescent mental resilience, emotional regulation, and coping abilities. Integrating CBT-based interventions into school health programs may contribute to improved psychological well-being and long-term mental health outcomes.
