Background: Clinical care is only one of the factors that define perinatal health and maternal well-being; social determinants (e.g., family support systems) play a role as well. Gaining momentum is the role of emotional, physical and financial support on the part of family members in enhancing maternal and neonatal outcomes. Objective: This research paper will look into how family support systems can improve perinatal health outcomes and maternal well-being throughout the continuum of care. Methodology: A conceptual synthesis and narrative review of the literature published in recent years were undertaken with an emphasis on the effectiveness of family support in terms of its effects on the antenatal, intrapartum, postnatal, and follow-up periods. There was a comparative analysis of supported and unsupported populations. Findings: Results show that high levels of family support are linked to 25-40 percentage boosts in antenatal care use, 30-percentage point drop in maternal stress and depressive symptoms, a 20-35 percent enhancement in institutional delivery and breastfeeding behaviors. Moreover, the results of neonatal results, such as early survival and health status were much more favorable among supported groups. Absence of family support was associated with late care, lack of adherence, and more complications. Conclusion: Family support network is an important factor that enhances perinatal outcome and maternal care. Allowing family-oriented healthcare systems will greatly improve the outcomes and decrease disparities.
