Skin cancer, encompassing melanoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and basal cell carcinoma has witnessed a remarkable surge in incidence over recent decades, necessitating novel and effective therapeutic interventions. Although surgery is still the most common form of therapy, new therapeutic approaches are being investigated in an effort to enhance results and lessen side effects. Natural compounds have received a great deal of attention for their varied pharmacological qualities in response to this growing global health problem. Among these, the alkaloid capsaicin, which is found in large quantities in chilli peppers, has drawn a lot of attention due to its stated ability to prevent cancer. In-depth investigation of capsaicin's potential as a skin cancer therapy is the goal of this thorough analysis. Research is done on the preclinical results, possible therapeutic uses, and mechanisms of action of the chemical. In addition, the study highlights obstacles and prospective avenues for using capsaicin's medicinal benefits. This review, which provides a thorough examination, provides important new information about capsaicin's potential to combat skin cancer.
