Abstract

Travel insurance is becoming a deal because more people are travelling and there are more risks and health emergencies. This study looks at how travel insurance research has changed over time by analysing published papers. The analysis uses papers from Dimension AI database. The study uses techniques like citation analysis and keyword co-occurrence to understand the field of travel insurance. It finds the important authors, journals, institutions and countries that are contributing to travel insurance research. Some of the research themes in travel insurance include Travel risk perception, Tourism safety, and health insurance, pandemic-related travel concerns, consumer purchase behaviour, and policy-related issues. The study shows that there has been a big increase in research on travel insurance after global health crises, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic. This means that people are getting more interested in travel insurance. The study also finds emerging research trends and networks that will shape the future of travel insurance. This review provides an overview of travel insurance research and gives useful insights for researchers, policymakers, insurance companies and tourism stakeholders. The study helps by mapping out what we know about travel insurance and identifying areas for research.
