Abstract

Objective: To analyze how Information and Communication Technologies can contribute to Food and Nutrition Education initiatives among children and adolescents. Methods: This is an observational, cross-sectional study using microdata from the “TIC Kids Online Brasil 2022” survey. The outcome variables were frequency of internet and social media use. The exposure variables were sex and age group. The association was estimated using simple linear regression analysis using the chi-square test. Results: Most respondents reported daily internet use, with 68.7% accessing the internet more than once a day. Searching for health-related information was the most prevalent among both sexes and age groups. Conclusion: Information and Communication Technologies offer opportunities for health education initiatives focused on healthy eating habits among children and adolescents, ensuring reliable and specific information for this audience.
