Objective: This paper compares the experience of two teenagers (one pregnant and one with no experience of pregnancy)
in terms of parenting practices within the family. Methods: Two instruments were used: a demographic data sheet and
a parenting style inventory. Results: Differences in perception were noted in terms of maternal and paternal parenting
practices as perceived by these adolescents. The young mother seems to have been more subjected to abusive educational
practices, and both her parents have negative parenting styles. The girl with no experience of pregnancy has a mother with
a positive parenting style, while her father is negative. Conclusion: Parenting styles and educational practices are only one
of the factors that can make young people more vulnerable to pregnancy during this period of life
