Abstract

Objective: To promote adolescent health through educational activities for health promotion. Methods: This is a descriptive
and exploratory study developed in a primary and secondary school of the Municipal Executive Secretariat Regional III of
Fortaleza-CE, developed in September 2011. The study population consisted of adolescents aged 10 to 15 years as per the
the parameters adopted by the World Health Organization. 16 adolescents agreed to participate in health education. Data
collection was done procedurally following the development of educational strategy. The ethical aspects of human research
were respected in accordance with Resolution 196/96. Results: In the characterization of adolescents, approximately 70%
were found to be aged 15 years. There was a predominance of female participation with 56.2%. Health education was
composed of four steps: technique to promote interaction between adolescents and coordinators, circle culture, board
game and evaluation of the activity developed. Conclusion: The nurse plays a fundamental role in promoting adolescent
health in the school environment, a place of great opportunities to address the various issues involving the universe of the
adolescent and the specifi c actions that go beyond the health sector
