Objective: Evaluate a case of Leber’s idiopathic stellate neuroretinitis, a rare disease of ocular involvement in adolescent
admitted to our clinic unit. Case description: A 16-year old adolescent, the bearer of defi ciency of glucose 6-phosphate
dehydrogenase, with decrease of unilateral visual acuity, painless and progressive two months ago, optical disc edema and
peripapillary and macular star by funduscopic examination. given the negative fi ndings of laboratory tests, radiological
and serology the diagnosis of exclusion was Leber’s idiopathic stellate neuroretinitis. Comments: Leber’s idiopathic stellate
neuroretinitis (LiSN) is a clinical entity of diffi cult diagnosis. Several treatable diseases may have similar appearance to the
classic LiSN, and the accurate diagnosis may result in appropriate treatment and visual rehabilitation.
