Objective: Adolescence is a unique and diverse phenomenon, culturally and historically circumscribed as a stage in
human life interspersed with changes, confl icts, challenges, crises and discoveries. As a result, the UFSM nursing course
implements the Adolescer Teen Project. Case description: Educational play workshops are organized, based on participative
methodology with groups of teenagers pursuing their basic education at government public schools is a region of the
Santa Maria municipality in Rio Grande do Sul State. The core presupposition adopted by this methodology is participation,
development of critical thinking and stimuli spurring creativeness and initiative. Comments: Setting aside areas for discussion and refl ection is essential for the construction of adolescents as the subjects of action in the world. This experience offers
the chance of working with groups to the students involved, broadening and deepening their thematic and methodological
expertise, while heightening perceptions of collective responsibility and social commitment. This experience has ushered in
a new way of thinking and doing in nursing.
