Abstract

Objective: This article aims to present the characterization of teenagers users of a Children and adolescents’s Psychosocial
Care Center in southern Brazil. Methods: This is a transversal study with descriptive analysis, in which a sociodemographic
data sheet was used as an instrument for search. Results: In this search 52 teenagers CAPSi users were analyzed, 33 (64%)
males and 19 (36%) females, 14 years (Sd= 1.81) average age. As for the relation of the service user and diagnose, it was
observed the need for still better communication between staff and user. It was also noteworthy that the health status
reported by adolescents with the highest percentage was characterized as "good" by 18 users (36,35%). Conclusion:
From this research it was possible to characterize the adolescent population attending the mental health service. This
characterization is the fi rst movement to the planning of activities that can provide health promotion for these youngsters.
