Abstract

Objective: Exploratory study that aims to analyze the effects of teenage pregnancy on women's life, to capture the
perception of the teenage pregnancy experience, and to apprehend family relationships from pregnancy in adolescence.
Methods: Based on semi-structured interviews with sixteen (16) women analyzed with the technique of Contents Analysis.
Results: It was possible to identify that after discovery of pregnancy, adolescents needed support from family and partner.
Motherhood did not signify interference in their life projects but became part of them. It could also be observed that early
pregnancy not only caused problems but fostered distinct perceptions about its impact. Conclusion: The study provides
subsidies to establish knowledge about the changes in young mothers’ life projects
