Objective: Phyllodes tumors of the breast correspond to fi broepithelial tumors having a large mesenchymal component
forming leaf-like structures. This pathology is rare mainly in adolescents and children, corresponding to less than 1% of the breast tumors. Clinically they usually appear as tumors of rapid growth, in patients around 45 years, and diagnosis is made
by means of clinical history, image and histology. The treatment of such lesions is predominantly by surgery. This report
presents the case of an adolescent, 11 years old, with a giant phyllodes tumor which evolved to a successful outcome.
Case description: An adolescent, 11 years old, admitted to the service mastology in the 28th ward of the Santa Casa de
Misericordia do Rio de Janeiro with a giant phyllodes tumor in the right breast underwent enlarged lumpectomy without
evidence of recurrence after one year follow up. Comments: although rare, phyllodes tumors can affect children and
adolescents, deserving attention from the various professionals involved in adolescent health
