Rastreamento das duas matrizes ósseas, proteica e inorgânica, em 192 sujeitos na adolescência. Estudo piloto coorte transversal. Prevenção primária da osteoporose

Objective: Analyze the evolutionary pattern of proteinous and inorganic matrices of bone formation in the period of
adolescence. Methods: One hundred and ninety-two subjects aged 10 to 18 years, healthy by the clinical evaluation
were submitted to capture of the Bone Biophysical Profi le at the site of the distal metaphyses of the proximal phalanges of the fi ngers II-V, from the non-dominant hand. Results: In the group aged from 10 to 14 years the qualitative parameter
(proteinous matrix) showed higher value in women with p<0.01. As of 15 years an inversion of curves occurred favoring men.
The quantitative parameter (inorganic matrix) in the group aged between 10-14 years presented higher value in women
with p<0.001. From 15 years onwards an inversion of curves occurred with the male overwhelming female. Conclusion:
The analysis of Bone Biophysical Profi le showed gradual and progressive increase in both sexes in number as well as in
amplitude of the ultrasound pulses. The innocuous technology simultaneously appraising both tools characterized the
physiological and evolutionary pattern during adolescence and confi rmed that female puberty occurs earlier than male’s,
allowing immediate practical application according to the Current Scenario of New Bone Biology.
