Abstract

Objective: Verify and analyze the prevalence of factors associated with bullying victimization among students enrolled on
the 6th to 9th grade at public elementary schools. Methods: A cross sectional study was carried out with 147 students that
answered a self-applied questionnaire. Results: One in three students have suffered bullying in the last month (28.8%).
Among the victims, 23.8% had mental health problems. The prevalence of bullying was higher among those whose parents
had a lower schooling rate and among those students who have already used alcohol in the last month. The most common
practice of bullying was verbal, followed by the material and physical by the boys and psychological and moral by the girls.
Conclusion: Was observed that bullying is a very frequent practice and prevention and intervention strategies should be
implemented at schools.
