Comprehensive care for adolescents and young people is still a challenge to be overcome by health services. This article aims to present the evaluation of a teaching material for professional training in health care for this age group created by the team of the Center for Studies on Adolescent Health (NESA). The content of the material was organized into three axes: growth and development; sexuality and reproductive health; and main clinical problems. These themes were addressed within the conceptual framework of competencies, based on the elaboration of 26 case studies, with different levels of complexity. The educational material was used in eight training courses, in different locations in the country, as well as in Latin American countries, totaling 208 participants. The questionnaires applied in these courses were used for the analysis. The results of the evaluations carried out showed positive assessments regarding the pedagogical proposal and the teaching material, indicating the possibility of its significant contribution to the training of teams. Furthermore, they highlighted the additional advantage of professionals not having to travel from their workplaces in search of access to information in more distant training centers. The use of self-learning technical-pedagogical materials has proven to be an important alternative in the continuing education of health professionals.Downloads
