Parental Awareness And Its Influence On Preventive Healthcare Practices In Pediatric Populations

Abstract

Background: Parent education is a key-factor influencing the inculcation of preventive health measures among children. A reasonable level of information about immunization, nutrition, and hygiene and early detection of diseases will greatly decrease morbidity and enhance child health outcomes in general. Objective: This research will help determine the degree of parental awareness and how it impacts on preventive healthcare within children. Methodology: A cross Sectional study was carried out on 300 parent of children aged 0-12 years in the urban settings. Structured questionnaires that evaluated the levels of awareness and prevention (vaccination adherence, regular health check-ups and hygiene practices) were used to gather data. Correlation and regression methods were used to perform statistical analysis. Findings: The outcomes showed that 68% of parents showed sufficient knowledge about preventive medical care. Increased levels of awareness were strongly linked with enhanced vaccination compliance (r = 0.52, p under 0.01) and regular medical check-ups. The children of highly mindful parents exhibited a lower occurrence of diseases that were preventable by 35%. Conclusion: The phenomenon of parental awareness has a crucial impact on preventive healthcare activities among the pediatric populations. Health education programs to strengthen the awareness and child health outcomes can be done.
