The Role Of Pediatric Nurses In Improving Patient Outcomes And Quality Of Care Delivery

Abstract

Background: Clinically, emotionally, and by educating patients and their families about their health, pediatric nurses become very essential in the provision of high-quality healthcare to children. Objective: The research seeks to assess the contribution of the pediatric nurses in not only enhancing patient outcomes but also the quality of care delivery within pediatric care settings. Methodology: A cross-sectional study was used to survey 120 pediatric patients and 60 health professionals in a sample of the hospitals. The structured questionnaires, patient health records, and care quality assessment tools helped as the means of data collection. The SPSS was used to perform statistical analysis, such as correlation and regression. Findings: The findings show that proper nursing interventions among the pediatrics enhanced the recovery of patients by 32 percent, the hospital hospital stay duration by 25 percent and the level of satisfaction by patients by 40 percent. There were strong, positive correlations between the quality of nursing care and patient outcomes (r = 0.72, p < 0.01). Conclusion: Pediatric nurses play a very important role in enhancing patient outcomes and quality of care. Enabling the pediatric healthcare provision can be further reinforced by strengthening the training, staffing, and support systems.
