The Role Of Healthcare Providers In Improving Perinatal Care Quality And Patient Outcomes

Abstract

Background: Perinatal care plays a crucial role in maternal and neonatal well-being. Disparities, especially in resource-poor settings, point to the importance of effective health provider engagement. Objective: This research seeks to assess the impact of health care providers in quality perinatal care and subsequent maternal and neonatal outcomes. Methodology: This is a descriptive analytical study using recent literature and health data to evaluate the role of providers during and after antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal services. Critical factors are provider expertise, communication and multi-professional collaboration. Findings: The analysis suggests that skilled provider interventions contribute to a 20-30% lower risk of maternal complications and a 15-25% higher neonatal survival rate, among other improvements. Good communication and patient satisfaction also correlated with better adherence to protocols and patient satisfaction. Conclusion: Skilled providers are the key to enhancing perinatal care. Training, supporting evidence-based care and system improvements all play an important role in improving maternal and perinatal outcomes
