Abstract

The period of adolescence is an important time to set the tone for physical, emotional and behavioral health throughout the lifespan. This study sought to assess how well evidence-based pediatric healthcare practices supported the development of adolescents, adolescent emotional wellness and preventive healthcare in educational communities. This cross-sectional research included 500 adolescents between 12 and 18 years of age, and focused on adolescent healthcare access, health education, emotional wellness support, preventive healthcare practices, and engagement with families and schools with structured questionnaires. Associations between adolescent health outcomes and healthcare practices were analyzed using descriptive, correlation and regression analysis. There were significant positive relationships with the highest being support for emotional wellness (r = 0.76, p < 0.001). Overall the regression model accounted for 72% of the variance in health outcomes (R² = 0.72). The utilization of preventive health care rose from 55% to 87% and mental health awareness increased from 52% to 86%. The results highlight the importance of integrating pediatric care and school support to promote healthy growth, emotional resilience, and prevention.
