Adolescence is a time of highly significant development, and behavioral, emotional and social problems have the potential to have long-term impacts on well-being and academic achievement. There is, however, a lack of coordination between healthcare providers, schools and community support services which can reduce opportunities for effective behavioral interventions. This study suggests a model of partnership between healthcare and education in the context of community-based pediatric counseling services for enhancing adolescents' behavioral development. A cross-sectional evaluation was done on 200 adolescents, ranging from 12 to 18 years of age, which included behavioral evaluation instruments, measures of outcomes in the counseling process, and school engagement indicators. Results of the statistical analyses showed that adolescents who engaged in coordinated counselling interventions had statistically significant improvements of 32.8% in behavioural regulation, 28.4% in emotional wellbeing, and 24.7% in school engagement. In addition, there was a significant positive link between targeting counselling and the behavioral development outcome (r = 0.71, p < 0.001). The results show that CBPCs can be used effectively and sustainably to enhance adolescent psychosocial well-being and positive behavioral development.
