Abstract

Background: Growing up emotionally in childhood is an integral component of health and well-being in general and has implications for social relationships, performance in school, behavioral self-control and mental health outcomes across the lifespan. Emotional problems in childhood may increase children’s risk for anxiety, depression, behavioral disorders, and poor psychosocial functioning. Family-centered interventions have been identified as effective strategies to promote emotional resilience, enhance parent-child relationships, and support positive mental health development. Objective: This study aims to assess the impact of family-centered interventions on children’s development of emotions and the promotion of their mental health via family support and psychosocial programs. Methodology: 400 children aged 6–14 years were given an extensive intervention model of parent training, basic emotional development, family counseling, improved communication and behavioral assistance methods for 12 months. Results were assessed with emotional well-being scales, behavioral adjustment measures, family connection quality indices and mental health evaluation scales. Results: The intervention yielded significant positive results. Emotional well-being scores were up 31.6%, behavioral change improved 27.8%, family relationship satisfaction increased 35.4% and mental health robustness scores improved 29.7%. The overall effectiveness of the intervention was 92.3%, indicating significant advantages of family-centered approaches for promoting children's emotional development and psychological well-being. Conclusion: Family-centered interventions are effective in improving emotional development, improving family relations and promoting positive mental health outcomes in children. The combination of parental engagement, emotional learning and psychosocial support is a powerful framework to build resilience as well as long-term psychological health.
