Adolescent substance misuse is one of the key public health issues related to behavioral problems, academic achievement, mental well-being and a higher likelihood of dependence on substances in the long term perspective. The idea of collaborative pediatric healthcare involving the integration of healthcare providers, schools, families, and community organizations has become a topic of interest as a method to assist in preventing and positively developing youth. The research purpose was to assess the efficacy of project pediatric healthcare plans to deal with teenage substance abuse and favorable behavior growth in communities. To examine the hypothesis, a cross-sectional analytical study was done between the months of January and April 2026 using 200 adolescents between the ages of 13-18 years recruited at four secondary schools, three community health centres and two pediatric healthcare facilities. Facts were gathered by way of structured questionnaires that measured the risk behavior of substance misuse, use of healthcare services as well as involvement in community preventive programs, preventive counseling exposures, and positive outcome of behavior development. The SPSS version 27.0 was used to carry out statistical analysis with significant value set at p < 0.05. The results showed that 34.5 percent of the respondents were exposed to one of the substances misuse risk behaviors, and 65.5 percent were not involved in any substance related risk behaviors. Adolescents reported their participation in community-based prevention programs (72.0) and preventive counseling, delivered by pediatric healthcare services (68.5). Teenagers who were part of collaborative healthcare programs showed markedly positively developed scores of behaviors (4.12 ± 0.61) as compared to those with little involvement (3.21 ± 0.74; p < 0.001). A 41.3% decrease in risk behavioral substance misuse was linked to preventive counseling and the involvement of the healthcare significantly correlated with behavioral development outcomes (r = 0.63, p < 0.001). The implications of these findings are that collaborative pediatric healthcare initiatives have a major impact in preventing the risk of substance misuse and promoting positive behavior change in adolescents. Enhancing multidisciplinary prevention and increasing partnerships with communities to provide healthcare can lead to better adolescent health outcomes and behavioral well-being in the long term.Downloads
